Happy Monday boys and girls - it's Miss Jasmine! Today we are going to learn all about Chile!

Chile is a country in South America! This country is a long strip along the Andes Mountains to the East and the Pacific Ocean to the West. Southern Chile is rich in forests and grazing lands and features a string of volcanoes and lakes. There are about 17,574,003 people living in Chile! The Chileans (people of Chile) speak Spanish, it is also known as 'Castellano.' Chile is also known for its many species of penguins as well as over 2,000 volcanoes!

This is a video about some cool facts about Chile:

Here are just a few photos of the penguins and volcanoes:

And look! Chinchillas from Chile that live in the Andes Mountains:

Here are the Andes Mountains! This is where our Andy's name comes from:

This is the Chilean flag! Chile's flag is a red, white and blue banner with a white star. The blue square in the canton region of the flag represents the sky, the white stripe represents the snow on the Andes mountains, and the red symbolize the blood that was spilled fighting for freedom.

You can color your own Chile flag if you'd like:

Chile’s National Anthem is a very beautiful song and they sing about the land that’s in their country, the beautiful blue sky’s as well as the flowers and animals and all that they love about it.

Next week we're going to learn even more about Chile! Have a wonderful day.
