Eric Carle is an author, and he's written and illustrated so many books. Eric Carle was born June 25th, 1929. His books are famous all over the world. Many of us have grown up reading his stories and admiring his colorful and unique illustrations.
Here are some of Eric Carle's most famous books:

He started to draw when he was just a little boy. He said he’d never stop being a scribbler. To create his pictures, he makes collages. He starts to paint over tissue paper to create different textures. He also likes to use his finger tips to paint as well.
Here is some of his art work:

When Eric was growing up, he would go for walks in the forest with his dad. They would stop and look at the different animals and insects living there his father would tell him about how they live and grow.
This inspired many of his books!
I'm now going to read to you The Very Hungry Caterpillar:

Get Creative!
Here is a fun craft you can do at home!

What you'll need is:
Cardboard egg carton
Directions:
1. Take the egg cartons and cut them so each one is a caterpillar. Trim and tidy the cups so you get a nice caterpillar shape.

2. Have the child paint the caterpillar. Wear an old shirt when painting!

3. Let the caterpillar dry. Encourage your child to attach pipe cleaners for antennas and glue eyes on.

You have your very own hungry caterpillar!
I hope you enjoyed today's lesson learning about Eric Carle! We can remember from him, to never stop creating! Goodbye!
