Writer's picture: EC1 TeachersEC1 Teachers

Hi boys and girls, it's Miss Jess, and today I'm going to introduce you to the next part of our animal kingdom study, which is: mammals!

Mammals live ALL over the earth! Some of examples of mammals are:

  • Dogs

  • Cats

  • Bears

  • Cows

  • Rabbits

  • Horse

  • Tigers

  • Whale

  • ANDY! Our chinchilla

But guess what? YOU are also a mammal! Humans are mammals.

Humans:

  • Our body temperature usually stays the same - we are warm blooded.

  • We have a backbone

  • We are born alive

  • We grow hair on our bodies

  • We have lungs and breathe air

  • Our mothers feed us milk when we are babies.

Here is a video where I talk a bit more about mammals:

Here is my cat Figaro! He's my best buddy:

Next week we'll be learning all about the differences between wild and tame mammals!
