Wednesday, May 13th Line Time: Where Mammals Live

Writer's picture: EC1 TeachersEC1 Teachers

Hello boys and girls it's Miss Elise! Today we’re going to talk about where mammals live. These past few days Miss Jess and Miss Jasmine have been talking about all different types of mammals. Now, let’s talk about the different environments they live in!

The first mammals lived on land, but over time some species adapted to live in watery environments. Some of them, such as otters and walruses, live mostly in the water but can also be found on land. Others, such as dolphins and whales, have bodies so completely adapted for life in the water that they no longer have a way of moving on land.

If you can remember, we are mammals! Humans are mammals! And we live in different types of shelters. We don’t have fur, so we live in houses with heat to keep us warm.

Some mammals have lots of fur, so they can live in colder environments! Yesterday, one mammal we talked about was polar bears.

Now we'll see some other homes that mammals live in:

The Jungle

The Desert

The Mountains

In this video, I show you a fun work I made so you can see where each animal lives!

I hope you enjoyed learning more about mammals! Have a wonderful day.
